Today my hubby and I went on our first hike of the season! We went on a hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Lake Blanche. It was such a beautiful, serene day up there. Backpack in tow, we headed on up to the trailhead. We were the first ones there - we got up early - and it was so much fun. We hiked about 3 miles up and almost got to the lake and then.... we had to stop. There was still way too much snow and it was blocking the trail. We had to turn back. Don't worry - we will be back up there in a couple of weeks when all of the snow melts. We WILL conquer that trail!!
Our goal is to hike at least 2 times a month during the hiking season. We love to spend time together and we feel really great after we have accomplished a big hike. Everyone is always so friendly on the trails too - which I love. It's like you're in this little club and everyone just sits and talks on the trail. We are excited to see how many hikes we can get in before the end of the summer. Wahoo!

The beginning...

Still so much snow!

I know, I know - my outfit doesn't match - but Ty was nice and gave me his jacket.

Only you would be concerned about your outfit not matching :)
Looks like fun!! We should plan a time to go hiking together. I am a little out of shape, but I love to hike.
