Halloween Time!

We love Halloween time! This year both of us dressed up.  Bella was a Ram, I was a "Shake Weight Instructor" and Jenna was a 60's Star Child Hippie. We ended up seeing a scary movie, Paranormal Activity 2 (which Jenna did NOT WANT TO SEE), carved Pumpkins, ate homemade chilli, gave some candy away to trick-or-treaters and..ya know..did the whole Halloween Sha-bang during the month.

Things we learned:

1.  The Shake Weight is a legitimate workout tool.  You look ridiculous, really ridiculous, but its tough to keep it going for a full minute.

2.  There is a prime age for trick or treating.  If they are too young, they can only do a few houses before they are ready for bed. Too old they are kind of obnoxious, less proud of/invested in their costumes and more proud of the weight of the pillowcase they are using as a candy bag.  There is a meaty center of children ages 3-8 where they are still cute enough where they are genuinely excited for one piece of candy, but haven't learned how to talk back yet if it's a Bit O'Honey and not a full size Twix they got a house in the next neighborhood over.

3.  Carving Pumpkins is funner than we remember.  For some reason the extent of my creativity as a child was just making the smile a little crooked on my Jack O' Lantern.  This year we went outside the box and did some fun ones.

Jenna also made treats, some Zombie cupcakes and homemade Oreos.  So, overall it was a pretty fun October/Halloween time.
Bring on Thanksgiving.
